Indulge in a Sweet Tropical Drink with Romance Author Cherish D’Angelo

Cherish D'Angelo

When Angela said she wanted a recipe from me for this blog post, it didn’t take much thinking to come up with something perfect for a vacation in the Bahamas, via my novel Lancelot’s Lady. I am a sucker for drinks that taste so fruity you forget there’s alcohol in them. These drinks are my creations―named for the main characters in my contemporary romantic suspense, Lancelot’s Lady.

Rhianna Margarita

1 cup–I mean ounce–of tequila

1/3 cup orange juice

1/2 cup margarita mix (or fresh squeezed lime juice)

1 cup ice

1/4 cup club soda

2 tbs strawberry daiquiri mix

Thin slice of orange and lime

Add the tequila, orange juice, margarita mix and ice together in a blender and mix on high for about a minute. Pour into a large, tall glass. Add club soda and drizzle strawberry daiquiri mix on top. Garnish glass with lime and orange slices, add a straw and enjoy!

Variation: Jonathan Margarita – triple recipe and use spiced rum instead of tequila.

Okay, so these aren’t really “appetizers”, but I guarantee you they are darned good! Try one and let me know what you think.

What’s your favourite tropical drink? (I’m looking for ideas for my Mexican cruise in February.)

And now, a little bit about Lancelot’s Lady

A Bahamas holiday from dying billionaire JT Lance, a man with a dark secret, leads palliative nurse Rhianna McLeod to Jonathan, a man with his own troubled past, and Rhianna finds herself drawn to the handsome recluse, while unbeknownst to her, someone with a horrific plan is hunting her down.

When palliative care nurse Rhianna McLeod is given a gift of a dream holiday to the Bahamas from her dying patient, billionaire JT Lance, Rhianna has no idea that her ‘holiday’ will include being stranded on a private island with Jonathan, an irritating but irresistibly handsome recluse. Or that she’ll fall head over heels for the man.

Jonathan isn’t happy to discover a drop-dead gorgeous redhead has invaded his island. But his anger soon turns to attraction. After one failed marriage, he has guarded his heart, but Rhianna’s sudden appearance makes him yearn to throw caution to the wind.

To live fully in the present, Rhianna must resolve her own murky past, unravel the secret that haunts JT, foil the plans of a sleazy, blackmailing private investigator and help Jonathan find his muse. Only then can Rhianna find the love she’s been searching for, and finally become…Lancelot’s Lady.

If I’m going to drink it has to be something fruity too :) Otherwise I can’t get it down.
